Fashion Feature: Top trends for Fall 19!
Long Summer days are almost gone, so it's time to look towards Autumn/Winter - which means digging out those jumpers and coats and also investing in some new wardrobe essentials that will match into the seasons trends.
We've picked out a selection of the most accessible looks (sorry guys we've skipped doing a piece of 'Mirts' - men's skirts to you and me 😉 ) and chosen stylish pieces that you can combine with our collection to keep you on point.
1) Leopard Print
A big trend for this season, but one that is suprizingly easy to pull off - leopard print suits most skin tones and goes well with the majority of other colours. If you’re fearful of looking a bit too much like a cast member of Eastenders, then think minimal - your nod to the trend could be anything from the lining of a coat, to a trim or a shirt under a knit… and ALWAYS keep it to your lop half - leopard print trousers are a no-no unless you’re in an 80’s throw-back band 🙂
Choose the Leather+Cotton London Black Loafer and pair it with these Leopard Print Socks (£20, All Saints)
2) Leather
From 80’s bands to the Hell’s Angels - top to toe leather was a key look this season., particularly in long leather trench coats and matching trousers. Again this trend is an easy one to filter down into something more wearable day-to-day (the bondage look is probably not so great for most offices 😉 ). Fortunately another trend that has no signs of ending anytime soon, is that for technical trainers - so you can have both trends covered with our Pyramid High Tops.
Leather+Cotton London Pyramid High Tops and for your top half invest in a super-fashionable Off-White Cross Body Leather Bag (£415, Browns)
3. Puffer Coats
We're not talking Michelin Man... although the styles favoured by London fashion Week were long-line affairs. To avoid looking like you've gone out in your duvet (which to be fair, on some days in January would definitely be a favoured option), we'd recommend choosing something more minimal and keeping your look sporty.
Padded Pullover Jacket (£135, Cos) combined with Leather+Cotton London Black and White High Tops
4. Suits
Although the ath-leisure look is still strong, suiting is making a come-back in 2 new looks for Aut/Win 19. This year it is all about black suiting... BUT it is all about the style.. think Italian Mobsters at a funeral, Peeky Blinders etc and you're on the right lines. When we say sharp, we mean SHARP. Invest in the best you can, this look is all about the cut and lines.
Blow the budget with The Soho - Men's Tailored-Fit Black Wool And Mohair-Blend Suit (£740, Paul Smith) or for something for more everyday, Black Tailored Suit (from £109, Kin - exclusive to John Lewis)
If you're after a pair of shoes to finish your look, may we also recommend the Leather+Cotton London Strap Top Boots in Black - the clean lines of this boot will sit perfectly with those of the suit.
Enjoy your Autumn!
